NH3 Hose

NH3 Hoses are lightweight, high-performance transfer hoses built with corrosion-resistant, high-tensile nylon braids and a durable perforated synthetic cover that resists abrasion, chemicals, ozone, and weathering. Designed for both agricultural and industrial applications, it offers superior safety and reliability with braided textile reinforcement that prevents kinking, dual green stripes for easy identification, and permanent crimp couplings for secure connections. Engineered to handle up to 350 PSI working pressure with a 5:1 safety factor (1,750 PSI minimum burst), the Series 7262 combines flexibility with strength and is compatible with N-Serve® at recommended concentrations. Each assembly is equipped with crimped, certified male pipe thread fittings and pin-pricked covers to prevent delamination, and it meets or exceeds RMA/TFI/ANSI standards for robust service in demanding conditions.

Safety and lifespan of NH3 hoses:

Anhydrous ammonia (NH3) hoses have a limited-service life, and handling them past their expiration date can be extremely dangerous. The rubber compounds used in the hose degrade over time, even with proper storage.

  • 7-year removal from service: Parker anhydrous ammonia hose must be removed from service within 7 years of its production date.
  • Manufacturer date included: Parker hose assemblies often include both the date of manufacture and a "replace by" date printed on the hose.
  • Regular inspection is crucial: Always perform a visual inspection of the hose for wear, gouges, or soft spots. If any damage is found, you should remove it from service immediately.

To determine the manufacturing date of a Parker NH3 hose, check the lay line printed along its side. The month and year of production are typically included in this line of text.

Locating the date code

The lay line is the repeating text that identifies the manufacturer, specifications, and other details about the hose. Look for a specific format indicating the month and year, which is commonly a four-digit code where the first two digits represent the month and the last two digits represent the year.
